Strollers & Car Seats For Babies & Kids

There are so many strollers out there on the market today, it's easy to understand why you might ask the question "which stroller is right  for me".  Lets see if we can make it a bit easier for you to help you decide which one will be the right choice for you and baby.

Firstly you need to determine the type of stroller you are looking for.  There are a few choices, do you need a compact/lightweight stroller, or the standard stroller or perhaps a jogging stroller, a travel system or a double stroller?

Here are a few helpful hints on the different types of strollers and their uses.

Compact/Lightweight Strollers – Most favorable for running errands, travel and ease of carrying. The lightweight stroller weighs less than 18 lbs and folds easily. Their basic features are that they are designed for easy storage.  While they aren’t as comfortable, these strollers offer convenience which other types of strollers do not.

Standard Strollers – A more comfortable option, the standard size strollers are heavier and are packed with features, they usually push with more ease and offer a more comfortable ride.

Multi Child Strollers – Designed for parents who have two or three children.  They come in double or triple with a tandem front to back style or a side by side. You can get lightweight, standard or jogging styles with the double and triple strollers.

Jogging All Terrain Strollers – If you enjoy keeping fit and want to bring your child along with you, then the jogging stroller is the perfect choice.  They usually have three all-terrain wheels and offer high performance parts.  They fold easily and are transportable, and come with many of the same features that the standard stroller has.

Travel System – One of the newer advancements in the stroller business, the travel system doubles as a stroller and a car seat in one.  You can remove the car seat from the stroller and attach it to the back seat of your car without disturbing your baby if they are asleep.  The travel system is designed to fold quickly and compactly, and offer many inventive features such as a stay in the car base, and a one-hand foldable option.

Pram Strollers – These strollers are generally used for newborn babies up to about 4 months.  They are lay-down strollers that are constructed on a chassis.  They usually have four wheels and are made for a non-rugged stroll.

So there you have it, a list of some of the different types of strollers out there, you will most likely use your stroller on a daily basis, beginning when your child is a newborn, and continuing throughout their toddler years.  It is important to find a stroller that best suits your lifestyle, space limitations, budget and desired features.  It is also important to keep in mind that as your baby grows, your stroller will need to change.
