Graco Safeseat Infant

Infant Carseats that go up to 30 lbs.?

Other than the Graco Safeseat, is there any other infant carseats that can hold a child up to 30 lbs?

I really like the convenience of having an infant carrier so I do not disturb the baby when I am taking him in and out of the car but want something that will most likely last him up to his 1st birthday.
I am 9 months pregnant right now and am deciding on a car seat.
this is my 3rd child. my first was 6 lbs 13 oz when she was born and did not reach 22 lbs till she was past one.

my second was 7 lbs 6 oz when born and outgrew his seat at about 10 - 11 months.

I already have a convertible that my son (who is 2 1/2) is using. So I figure that i would just give that to the baby when he outgrows the infant seat.

Hi! I totally understand that you want to get the most our of your infant seat, but at 30 pounds that seat is going to be so heavy!!! My son is 7-months-old and he weighs about 21 pounds. The infant carrier just got way too heavy to carry around, especially lifting it in and out of the car. By the time he reached 15 pounds I was really struggling when I had to carry it around, even short distances. And I work out! It just might not be realistic.

In my experience, by the time most babies reach 7-8 months old, they don't sleep in the car seat as often as they did when they were smaller. And they wake-up much more easily, even if they do fall asleep. Convertible car seats are nice because they are roomy and recline facing backwards. My son loves his bigger seat and I just pop him in a lightweight stroller that reclines when we get to our destination.
