When did you move from an Infant Car Seat to a Convertible?
Hi!
My son is almost 5 months old and weighs about 17-18 lbs. He fits in his Graco Infant Car seat fine... but now that it's winter time and we have him bundled up in winter gear.. the straps are getting tooo tight on the infant car set (we've already adjusted the straps as far as they can go)
So I was thinking about getting a convertible car seat (the ones where you can still have it rear facing and then switch to front facing when old enough) Do you think he's big enough for this? When did you get rid of the infant seat?

We switched my son at about 7 months. He hit the weight and height limit, I imagine we would have had to switch sooner also if it were winter time because of the same strap issue.
Your son will be just fine in a convertible seat. Just be sure to read all the specs on it first. The car seat I bought goes from 5-35 lbs rear facing, 20-40 lbs forward facing, and then converts into a booster up to 100 lbs! I will never have to buy another car seat for my son again!

I looked at about 20 different car seats before I found the one I liked. I liked Britax but it was out of our price range, and other had reviews that pointed out things I wouldn't like. I am very satisfied with the one we purchased, straps adjustments are easy (which is important when you are always bundling them up in different gear depending on weather), its super comfy, my son loves it. It was hell getting him into his infant carrier, this car seat is soo easy, and he doesn't fuss.
